Authorization Document
Today, e-Learning is an inseparable part of the education system and there are hundreds of organisations which enable MOOCs to pave the way for online learning. UNECSCO defines e-learning as “a type of learning that teachers teach their students without their physical presence and time contingency. This means that communication between teacher and students entirely or mostly takes place digitally or electronically”. Owing to the importance of e-learning in today’s world, prestigious universities such as Harvard, Oxford, MIT and many more have their own e-learning systems and they are providing online degrees as well.
As the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan is responsible for all issues of higher education according to the Afghanistan higher education law, in 2020 the Ministry updated and approved the sub-law of e-learning. According to the fourth paragraph in article 1 of this sub-law, MoHE is obliged and authorized to provide e-learning opportunities and platforms for Afghan students and Afghan learners. AfghanX is one of the platforms designed by the Ministry of Higher Education to provide an e-learning platform for Afghan students. This platform eliminates the dependence on time and location with unlimited access to different types of resources for learning. Using this platform, students can attain better time management skills and have access to up-to-date information in different subjects and fields.
